Here are some updates for Cal Football Recruiting from the Golden Bear Lair Free Recruiting Forum, which right now is one of the best Cal Football Recruiting Forums out there (although its for recruiting for all Cal Sports).

-Cal is the New Leader for D.J. Foster after Visit to Berkeley this Weekend: Foster is Cal’s top RB target and a playmaker. He would be a huge pickup for Cal. Cal was late on the scene with him, but has quickly become the favorite. It is huge news that D.J. Foster Favors Cal as he could be a great offensive weapon in the future if he decides to be a Bear.

-JUCO Visesio “Junior” Salt picks Florida over Cal: Included in that thread are reasons why he chose Florida over Cal including what position each school was recruiting him at and enrollment status.

-OT Steven Moore Liked Cal Visit (A lot more on him to come in post tomorrow or Tuesday after I talk to him again): Looks like Cal has a very good chance of landing the Offensive Lineman.

DJ Foster would be a big pickup! I’ve got a bad feeling about Shaq Thompson. On Twitter he mentioned that some people were going to be surprised at his choice.

Yeah, Foster would be a big addition to the class. I saw Shaq’s tweet and I don’t know if you can assume that a surprise would mean he isn’t going to Cal. It could just mean that there is a surprise that people finally know where he is going after all these months. Haha, that’s not it. I think Cal will get Shaq though and I’ve heard that from multiple sources. Also, make sure to check back tomorrow as I will finally be able to get get updates from Steven Moore and Darius Hamilton. Both are my contacts and both visited Cal with Foster.

Yep, with Shaq Thompson and Arik Armstead, Cal would be probably be in the top 10 then at least. As for the update, I’m going to talk to Hamilton in late afternoon so post on him will be up tonight on him. Looks like that’s going to be the only update we’re going to have in recruiting today, but we have a WBB post and maybe another one coming up.

Also, really appreciate the comment. Nice to know that all the work I put in gets noticed.

Yep, Salt wanted to play DT more than OT and that’s what Florida recruited him as, which is one reason why he went there. I talked more about this in Golden Bear Lair’s Free Recruiting Forum.
