2013 four-star defensive tackle Henry Poggi is set to make his decision today between Alabama and Michigan, with some pundits listing Michigan as the favorite. The California Golden Bears offered the Baltimore DT, who is known as a great recruit to interview.

Henry Poggi also received offers from Auburn, Florida, Iowa, Maryland, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Missouri, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, South Carolina, Stanford, Tennessee, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia, and Wisconsin during his recruitment.

The four-star defensive tackle is ranked by Rivals as the second best DT in the 2013 class and the 52nd best player overall. Scout has him as the 15th best at his position, while ESPN has him at 23rd and 247Sports 7th. 247Sports also ranks him as the third best recruit in the state of Maryland and the 105th best overall, while ESPN has him as 5th best in the state and 35th in the region.

The 6’4″, 260 pound tackle is known for his strong play against the run, but he can also run a 4.7 forty. He is known as a tweener, but he has the ability to play tackle and can also play tight end.

Poggi is one of the top 15 players at his position and one of the top five players in his state. His decision today will impact both Alabama and Michigan. The Under Armour All-American game participant notched 49 tackles with 11 for a loss and ten sacks last season.

Although Cal is not in the final two, they offered him at the beginning of March and were never completely out if it. It comes down to the Crimson Tide and Wolverines at this point, and we’ll see where Henry Poggi lands and how he impacts the team he chooses.
