Today is a big day for Cal Football! The Cal Golden Bears are set to play in their sixth game of the season, as they continue their horrible 2013 Pac-12 campaign. They lost last week to the Washington State Cougars 44-22. Tonight’s game is against the 11th ranked UCLA Bruins, who lead the Pac-12 South Division. The game is all set for a 7:30pm start from the iconic Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, live on the ESPN 2.

If for any reason you cannot catch the game on television, the Cal football game is being streamed live and legally on the Watch ESPN website.

To access the live game stream from the ESPN, you can click here.

I will be watching the game from the Tempest Bar and Grill, a bar that can be found in the seedy underbelly of the SOMA district in San Francisco. I highly recommend coming through for the $2 Pabst Blue Ribbons, $4 well drinks and the (apparently amazing) $8 buffalo wings. However, if you want the “Dan Abella Special” purchase a $5 shot of Fernet and an $8 Box Burger (which consists of Ground Schmitz Ranch chuck, bacon shallot gastrique, white cheddar cheese, tomato, lettuce, and crispy shallots on a toasted potato pepper bun) and the $5 Garlic Fries. Then as the music blares and the game goes on over a large projector screen, enjoy the tastes of old school San Francisco.

Why would I go to such a seedy watering hole rather than the run-of-the-mill sports bar? Because this game is likely going to make me want to get very inebriated. On the other hand, the Tempest happens to be my go-to (as it has hosted my all-time favorite sports moment), so maybe some luck will be sprinkled onto the Cal football team this weekend.
