Washington Football: Players to Watch

Shaq Thompson-Linebacker

Washington features one of the best young linebackers in the conference with Shaq Thompson. Thompson, a former Cal recruit, went from being the second best safety in his recruiting class to one of the best emerging linebackers in the nation. He is Washington’s second leading tackler and can easily use the speed and shiftiness that made him a top end safety recruit.

I don’t know if he’s going to match up against Cal’s tight ends, slot receivers or just be mostly in the zone for the rushing attack, but he will be a real treat to watch during this game against Washington. It’ll be a bitter to see him play well, leaving us to wonder what would have been had he been a Bear.
