Cal will be playing postseason basketball, even if they are not in the NCAA Tournament. The Bears drew a #4 seed and will play Mississippi in the first round. The game will be held at Haas Pavillion.

This game is a big opportunity for the Bears. For Markhuri Sanders-Frison, it’s a chance to continue his career further. For the rest of the team, it’s a time to develop and prepare for next season as well as contend with quality competition for a final time. Next season starts today for the Bears as they look to make a return to the NCAA Tournament.

Mississippi won 20 games this year and went 7-9 in SEC play. They picked up 2 wins against NCAA Tournament teams in Penn State and Kentucky. They are led by Chris Warren, their point guard and Zach Graham, their shooting guard. Both are seniors, which mean Ole Miss figures to be a tough, composed team. We will certainly have more on the Rebels as the week goes on.

This is great news, as Cal now gets another home game and another chance to develop a young team that will be losing one senior next year. Go Bears!
