Cal Players to Watch against Oregon
Khairi Fortt-Linebacker
I would venture to say that I did not expect Khairi Fortt to have his best game as a Cal Bear against Ohio State. He proved me wrong, not just by having his best game two weeks ago against the Buckeyes (13 total tackles), but by being the leading tackler for the Golden Bears up to this point (25 tackles).
Oddly enough, there is potential that Fortt won’t even start tomorrow, and Michael Barton will be the man getting the start at the weakside linebacker spot. Either way, Fortt will be out on that field tomorrow and he will have to continue to prove that he is the kind of player he has been the last three games.
Oregon, as mentioned before, has an extremely tough running game to defend. If Cal has even an iota of a chance to stop said run game, they must have Fortt at his highest levels of performance.
