Jared Goff had a record setting night against Washington State. Washington State has a good defense and a really talented secondary. UCLA will have the same two things going for them (a good defense and a talented secondary). Goff will need to be even better than he was against Washington State (504 yards on 33-of-59 passing with two touchdowns and an interception) to have a shot of beating this team.
Goff is still one of the best quarterbacks in the nation and probably the best freshman quarterback to debut this yeas (in a year where three true freshman have started and showed the nation how bright their programs’ futures are). He still has to be at his best when he shows up in Pasadena. This UCLA team is 4-0 and looking to make a statement after taking so much flack (and rightfully so) for their very pedestrian start to their intra-division match up against Utah this past weekend.
